All through the book, there are many examples which shows how much Steve jobs was manipulative.
I was reading the chapter of "The Ipad" from his biography by Walter Issacson, and there is one incident where Apple decides against the use of Intel chips in Ipad.
Steve jobs gave the statement that they did not go with Intel chips in Ipad for chefly two reasons
- Intel chips were fast, but consumed more power and were costly. A chip is much than speed, and the graphics of Intel chips sucked.
- Apple and Intel initially worked on creating intel chips for Ipad and iphone, but it did not work out as the Intel were like Steamship, very slow in working. But Apple was used to going pretty fast.
But according to Otellini, it would have made sense for Apple to use intel chips in iPad. The problem was that they could not agree on the price. This showed another example of Job's desire to control every aspect of product.
